Mute Swan: Cygnus olor. A family of mute swans feeding at the World famous Abbotsbury Swannary in the County of Dorset, Swannary situared on The Fleet, a stretch between the Chesil beach and the mainland forming part of the Jurassic Coast. The mute swan is Britain's largest bird. Whwn swimming it normaly holds its neck in a elegant S curve, with bill pointing downwards. In contrast to other swans ithas a longer tail which is often cocked upwards giving a high rearend. When angry, the mute swan arches its back which other swans do not do.
