Funeral of industrialist, John Marston, Wolverhampton, 1918. John Marston (1836-1918) was a successful Victorian bicycle, motorcycle and car manufacturer who founded the Sunbeam company of Wolverhampton and whose products wererenowned for their high quaity. The original company was one of the country's largest manufacturers of japanware but he then became inteested in making distinctive japanned black and gold bicycles. He was Mayor of Wolverhampton for two consecutive years and was active in public life, dying in 1918 aged 82.
