A common woodentub similar to that in fig. 81 is a very goodform. The temperature should be mild,varying from 65° to 80°, and may be con-tinued from fifteen minutes to an hour. The immersing of an inflamed or dis-eased part in water, either warm, tepid, orcool, according to the circumstance of eachcase, will exert a powerful influence inmodifying the inflammation.
