ATLANTIC OCEAN (July 7, 2018) The guided-missile destroyer USS Forrest Sherman (DDG 98) fires its Mark 45 5-inch gun during a live-fire exercise. Forrest Sherman is underway for a scheduled deployment as part of the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group. With Harry S. Truman as the flagship, deploying strike group assets include staffs, ships and aircraft of Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 8, Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 28 and Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 1; as well as the Sachsen-class German navy frigate FGS Hessen (F 221).
