Army Chief Warrant Officer Oscar and Mabel Grammer are pictured with their children at Arlington Hall Station, Va., for a ceremony Jan. 26, 1968, presenting them with Vatican Humanitarian awards for their work finding orphaned children homes. In addition to helping children find families, the Grammers adopted 12 children of their own. Lt. Gen. Nadja West, Army Surgeon General and Commanding General, Army Medical Command, was the youngest of 12 children they adopted.
