Ordnance QF 18 pounder field gun used to signal the beginning and end of 2 minutes of silence at the Brookwood Remembrance Service 2019
The Ordnanace QF 18-pound field gun was in sactive service between 1904 and 1945. This example is manned by British Army soldiers in Great War uniform. The building in the background is the Air Forces Shelter which is part of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission military cemetery in Brookwood, Surrey, England. The gun was fired twice during the 2019 November Remembrance Service at Brookwood. The gun was capable of firing armour piercing, smoke, gas, high explosive, incendiary and shrapnel shells. This is likely a Mk 2 gun.
