Lewes, UK. 16th May 2018. The county town of East Sussex, Lewes, has elected for the first time as mayor a female, ethnic minority councillor, Janet Baah, who has lived in the town for 17 years, since moving from Ghana, the country of her birth. Mrs Baah will be inaugurated in a ceremony this evening (Thursday) at Lewes Town Hall.
