Retroviral intasome molecule. Molecular model of an intasome (blue and mauve) from a retrovirus complexed with host cell DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid).

Retroviral intasome molecule. Molecular model of an intasome (blue and mauve) from a retrovirus complexed with host cell DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid). Intasomes are nucleoprotein complexes of the enzyme integrase and viral DNA (pink). Integrase is used to integrate the viral DNA into the host cell's chromosome.
