Idaho, Shoshone County, Cataldo Mission. The Cataldo Mission, also called the Mission of the Sacred Heart, was designed by architect Antonio Ravalli and built in 1848 by Coeur d'Alene Indians under supervision of Jesuit missionaries. Constructed without the use of nails and using Wattle and Daub method (similar to adobe) the Mission is the oldest standing structure in Idaho. The Mission was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NHRP) on October 15, 1966, #66000312.
