He afterwards emigrated to this country, withhis wife and three children — two sons and a daughter — andfollowed his profession successfully before the Revolution. Asthis note was published to correct the mistake of a speakerat a meeting of the bar on the occasion of the death of JamesPowers, namely that James was born in humble life, the state-ments were doubtless authorized by some member of the familyof James Powers.
