Being flexibly supported, it will remove alltrouble with rail joints, as in practice the motor runs asquietly as the old horse car. Not even the gear noise isheard, as the gears are enclosed in airtight housings andrun in oil. The excellent workmanship, for which theWalker Company is famous, tells greatly in this class ofmachinery.
