American soldier, Pvt. McGarrigle from the Signal Corps, can be seen in this image dating back to July 19, 1918. The photograph captures wounded American soldiers who were recuperating at the Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, DC, after being injured in France during World War One. Pvt. McGarrigle lost an arm while assisting in the repair of an automobile. The photograph was censored and released by the censor on July 26, 1918.
