Denver, Colorado - Seedlings being planted at the hydroponic farm at the GrowHaus, an indoor farm in the low-income, mostly Hispanic Elyria-Swansea neighborhood. The plants grow in a recirculating nutrient solution rather than in soil, using only 10% as much water as a traditional farm. The GrowHaus features both hydroponic and aquaponic farming. It distributes produce to Denver restaurants and groceries, and makes produce available to neighborhood residents at a price they can afford.
