Thoroughlyversed in the knowdedge and duties of his calling, since locating inthis city he has succeeded in building up a large and extended patron-age. He was bora near Marshall, Saline county. Mo., April 25, 1861,being the fifth of a family of eight children of J. C. and Margaret(Martin) Crowder. The father of our subject who was born atSpringfield, 111., in 1829, located in Saline county. Mo., in 1850, en-gaging in agriculture as an occupation. The mother was born in 1832,near Rochester, N. Y., but with her parents located in Missouri in1846.
