SEA (April 1, 2019) The Canadian navy ship Shawinigan is underway during exercise Phoenix Express 2019 (As seen from the bridge aboard the Spanish navy ship Meteoro). Sponsored by Africa Command (AFRICOM) and facilitated by Naval Forces Europe-Africa, Phoenix Express is designed to improve regional cooperation, increase maritime domain awareness information sharing practices, and operational capabilities to enhance efforts to achieve safety and security in the Mediterranean Sea.
