Birds No. 1, No. 5, and No. 6 were chosen for the equatorial tests. No bird reacted at all in the first testing session on September 29 at 11 :50 to 12:22 TLT. From September 30 on, No. 1 and No. 6 cooperated rather well when placed into the apparatus, exceptionally up to three times per day.
