'Execution of Tomkins and Challoner', (1897). 19th century depiction of the hanging of Richard Challoner and Nathaniel Tomkins on 5 July 1643. They were implicated in Waller's Plot, an attempt to force an armed rising against Parliament during the English Civil War. They were hanged on Fetter Lane in London.
