Constellation of Hercules. Optical image of the stars of the northern constellation of Hercules (a hero of classical Greek and Roman mythology). Its brightest star is Kornephoros or Beta Herculis (white, centre right). This constellation has 22 main stars. It is one of the 88 modern constellations adopted by the International Astronomical Union in 1922.
