'Henry Howard, Earl of Surrey', c1546, (early-mid 19th century). Portrait of Howard (1517-1547), an English aristocrat and poet, who was executed for treason by King Henry VIII in 1547. Howard was also a first cousin of both Queen Anne Boleyn and Queen Catherine Howard. He is shown here aged 29, about a year before he died.
