Ether inhaler. An inhaler, designed by Dennis Brown in 1928, used to administer ether. Ether was one of the earliest anaesthetics to be used. It was difficult to administer as it made the patient choke. For a time, ether was replaced by chloroform in anaesthesia, but made a comeback after chloroform proved to be more dangerous.
