Wantage, Oxon, England: historic buildings in the market square


Wantage is a market town and civil parish in the Vale of White Horse, England, about 8 miles (13 km) southwest of Abingdon and a similar distance west of Didcot. Wantage was part of Berkshire until the 1974 boundary changes transferred it to Oxfordshire. Wantage is the birthplace of King Alfred the Great and King Edward the Elder.
