A fine wheellock rifle with bone inlay decoration, Saxony or Bohemia, circa 1680. Octagonal barrel slightly constricted in the middle possessing an elaborate eight-groove rifled bore in 12 mm calibre with alternating half-round and v-shaped grooves. Dovetailed sights with a folding rear sight. Finely engraved lock with an interior wheel and an openwork, engraved brass wheel cover.
