Early computer printer. This machine was known as the Radiation Printer, because it was produced by a company called Radiation Incorporated, from Melbourne, Florida, USA. Based on electrographic printing technology, it used huge rolls of paper (seen here). It could print 30,000 alpha-numeric lines per minute. Each line contained 120 characters, and each character was formed within a 7x9 dot matrix. Photographed circa 1964, at the Lawrence Radiation Laboratory at Livermore, California, USA. This site, founded in 1952, would by 1980 be known as the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
