Light micrograph of mammary tuberculosis in a human breast. Mammary tuberculosis is a very uncommon manifestation of extra-pulmonary localisation of the disease, even in countries where the incidence of pulmonary and extrapulmonary tuberculosis is high. The mammary gland shows chronic inflammatory infiltrates, many granulomas with Langhans multinucleated giant cells and central caseous necrosis.
