Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David Goldfein salutes a flight of the Air Force's newest Airmen June 16, 2017, at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. Goldfein toured various JBSA-Lackland facilities and met many 37th Training Wing Airmen during his two-day visit. Every enlisted Airmen begins their Air Force career at basic military training. JBSA-Lackland is often referred to as the "Gateway to the Air Force," graduating about 39,000 Airmen annually. Basic military training is one of the missions of the 37th Training Wing, the largest training wing in the United States Air Force.
