A bicorn and epaulettes of the Austro-Hungarian ship-of-the-line lieutenant Karl Novoszad in original case Bicorn of black silk mohair trimmed in wide gold braid, gold-braided loop with embroidered crowned anchor. Both hat ends with gold roses bearing the initials "FJI". White silk lining featuring the maker's label (tr.) "Franz Thill's Nephew His Majesty's Depot - Purveyor to the Imperial and Royal Court".
