Head and thorax blue-black; antennae fulvous at tips; abdomen dull metallic bluish, with subdorsal white patches on 3rd and 4th segments. Fore wing crimson suff'used with black, the veins and terminal area black with a slight bluish gloss. Hind wing crimson, with terminal black band. Hah. Jamaica (Gosse). Exp. 5U millim. Egg. Pale yellow, spherical with flattened base, with fine pen- tagonal reticulations. Larva pale yellow-brown, with subdorsal, lateral, and sublateral series of small fuscous-edged white spots; the somites bearing subdorsal, lateral, and sublateral warts with radiating hairs, the 2nd to terminal somites also with paired dorsal warts and small warts above the sublateral series ; the 2nd somite with long forwardly- directed hair on subdorsal warts, the subterminal segment with backwardly directed hair.
