Potassium permanganate titration. This is the start of a redox titration between oxalic acid (C2H2O4) and potassium permanganate (KMnO4) and the solution of oxalic acid is clear. To avoid the solution turning brown during the titration the solution should be warmed to 85 degrees Celsius or have sulphuric acid (H2SO4) added to it.
