Chalice with the Arms of Housteyn, second quarter 15th century, Made in Gelderland or Cleves, South Netherlandish, Silver, parcel gilt with traces of enamel, Overall: 6 13/16 x 5 5/16 x 6 1/16 in. ( x x cm), Metalwork-Silver, This chalice, with a hexagonal knop and stellate base, represents a type popular in the Rhineland and the Lowlands around 1400. The underside of the base is engraved with the names of five members of the Housteyn family, including Gryta Housteyn, whose name also appears on the lozenges of the knop
