Chicago, Illinois, USA, September, 1988 Fourteen people were arrested, but there were no clashes between groups that gathered separately in Marquette Park on Sunday for a Ku Klux Klan rally and a multiracial gathering to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr., police said. More than 800 police officers, many on horses and some in helicopters, maintained order Sunday as hooded Ku Klux Klansmen preaching white supremacy staged a rally in a south section of the park, while the multiracial group marched and sang on the opposite end of the Southwest Side park.
