Private First Class Blake G. Parton, Platoon 1025, Bravo Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, stands at parade rest prior to graduation at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Oct. 23. Parton is a Willard, Mo., native and was recruited out of Recruiting Station Springfield, Mo. Today, all males recruited from west of the Mississippi are trained at MCRD San Diego. The depot is responsible for training more than 16,000 recruits annually.
