The carved Tympanum above the west door of Bern Cathedral Church. The central figure of the Archangel Michael is seen weighing souls, while at the same time fighting a demon. To his left are the damned who burn in hell and are tortured mercilessly by demons. To his right are the righteous souls who have attained the Kingdom of Heaven among whom can be seen depictions of saints, bishops, kings and noblemen. In the nooks of the arch above the tympanum are statues of angels and Old Testament Prophets
