Through thecourse of its history the Comper familyhave likewise given generous and practicalhelp to the church, and it has had numer-ous sympathisers among a wider Clements worthily represents Episco-palianism in the east-end of the city, andit may he said to have justified its existenceby the manner in which it is touching atmany points the life of the people whomit was designed to serve. Walker as co-pastorof St Pauls, several of the congregationof that chapel who were not satisfied withthe sole ministrations of Rev. Sir WilliamDunbar, the remaining incumbent, met inconsultation as to their future position was that they could notwith advantage to their spiritual conditioncontinue to attend St. Pauls, and theywere of opinion, after considering the wholematter, that a fit time had come for the establishment of another English Episcopalcongregation in Aberdeen. Once the de-cision bad been reached, no time waslost. On 8th January, 1854, a meetingwas held, and on 13th January acommunication was addressed by thedissentients to Rev. Abel
