The Marines learned about Operation Centerboard, with Marines being able to view the location of the two atomic bomb loading pits. The Marines have been deployed on short notice from Fuji to notionally secure the expeditionary airfield and conduct training. The training allowed the Marines an opportunity to establish long-range communications and receive professional military education in order to ensure utilization and validation of the Marianas Islands Range Complex, improve the Marines' understanding and appreciation for unit history, and validate elements of the Alert Contingency MAGTF.
