Owners ofhorses reporting were requested to compare the confor-mation of their horses with those shoAvn in figures 66 and67 and report the result of these comparisons. Of the32,902 horses reported as unsound, 21,737 were reportedunsound behind, 93 per cent of such unsoundness beingin the hock. Here again we have evidence of the im-portance of a good hock, and based not upon theory, butactual fact. Of all horses becoming unsound, 61
