Near the top of this plant, underthe leaf shelter, a globose-bodied spider has taken up his resi-dence. The suns rays, coming down through an opening inthe trees, have lured the red-striped cercopid to the uppersurface of the elderberry leaves. But on the slightest touchor move, quick as a flash, they run sideways to the margin ofthe leaves, where they disappear underneath.
