Army Spc. Nicholaus Loureiro, a cavalry scout assigned to the 1st Squadron, 14th Cavalry Regiment, based at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, provides security in some tall grass while other members of his team conduct area reconnaissance June 16, during Combat Support Training Exercise 91-22-01 at Fort Hunter Liggett, California. Active duty Soldiers from the 1-14 Cav. Regiment are providing support to Army Reserve units participating in the exercise by acting as enemy forces who perform simulated attacks on Soldiers, creating a more realistic wartime scenario.
