Coming from the Eastin 1892, the latter rapidly laid waste the flourishingcountries on both sides of the river. It was Rabeh who restored the ancient town ofDikoa, making it his headquarters; its populationgrew to over 100,000, and it eclipsed all the townsfrom the Senegal to the Nile.
