The eggs of the Masked Shrike are mostly of a pointed oval form and possess a fair amount of gloss. They are of a creamy-buff colour, usually marked with well-defined spots and blotches of brown or yellowish brown and lavender. These are chiefly distributed over the larger half of the egg, and often form an irregular zone, but they are not so streaky in character as in the eggs of most other Shrikes.
