US military forces. 170331OC926-236 Mediterranean Sea (March 31, 2017) A Marine with the Maritime Raid Force, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), fires a M45A1 pistol while conducting a live-fire training exercise aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19), in order to sustain weapons proficiency March 31, 2017. The 24th MEU is underway with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the 6th Fleet area of operations.
