Perpkt., 5 cts.: oz., 10 cts.; lb., $ BEET, IMPROVED EGYPTIAN. The advantages of this variety over ordinary strains of the Egyptian are in its being of a much brighter color a7id s^noother. It is fully as early for small beets for bunching, but makes faster growth later, avoiding the woody fibre found in the old strain. Many prominent market gardeners who had some of this seed of us last year pronounce it the best and most profitable of any variety thev had ever grown. Per 5 cts.; oz., lOcts.; lb., 80 cts. BEET, EDMANDS' TURNIP. The seed v:e offer xvas grown by the originator. Mr. Etmaxds. and v:e have again secured the only lot that came to this market from him the present season. This variety is the most thoroughly fixed and uniform in type of any turnip beet. The flesh is deep blood-red in color, and exceedingly sweet and tender in quality. It is round and smooth in shape and of good market size. It does not grow over large, where room is permitted, as many kinds are apt to do, therefore needs not to be thinned so much as most varieties. It grows a small top and but a single tap-root, which fact commends itself to the garden- er's attention who grows beets for bunching purposes.
