Yama Sakura focuses on enhancing and Japanese combat readiness and interoperability while strengthening bilateral relationships and demonstrating resolve to support the security interests of allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. Aoki is the commander of the Amphibious Rapid Deployment Brigade with the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force.
