Edward Aldrich, Esq., Isaac Stratton,Esq., Israel Applin of Swanzey, Clark of JafPrey, JonathanRobinson, Esq., of Surry, Calvin May,Gilsum, Danforth Tyler, building of suitable size, two andone half stories high, was first floor included two rooms forthe assistants. The second floor wasused by the principal,^ and the thirdfloor contained the hall for lectures,lyceums and entertainments. A boarding house, containingtwenty rooms or more, was erected forthe use of the pupils. It is now usedfor a hotel. Notwithstanding this was a Uni-versalist school, it was always conserv-ative, students from all denomina-tions attended it, and later, the prin-cipals were selected without regard to religious belief.
