Jedburgh, UK. 05 July 2014 Jethart Callant's Festival 2014 - Redeswire Rideout. Herald Allan Learmonth, leads the Pipe Band ahead of the mounted cavalcade past the ruined Jedburgh Abbey. The Jethart Callant's Festival is held annually in the Scottish Border's town of Jedburgh to commemorate the historical skirmish between Scots and English armies, known as the Raid of Redeswire, in 1575. The encounter is often cited as the last battle between the two armies, and is immortalised in the poem by Sir Walter Scott 'The Raid Of The Redeswire'.
