A bone-veneered hunting/sporting crossbow, Johann Gottfried Hänisch the Elder in Dresden, first quarter of the 18th century. Robust steel bow tapering towards the ends. Retained by chords with remnants of gold-plating, green woollen pom poms (incomplete) and braided hemp string in original state of preservation. Slender wooden tiller, the top veneered with ornamentally engraved bone (the front engravings partially reworked).
