Heis now engaged ingeneral practice withoffices at No. 53State Street. He isone of the publicadministrators of Suf-folk County, and many large trusts are confided to hiscare. In politics he is a Republican. He represented^Vard 9 in the Common Council for six years, was amember of the lower House of the Legislature in 1886,1887 and 1888, serving as chairman of several importantcommittees, and was in 1891 a member of the StateSenate. He is president of the Boston Athletic Asso-ciation, and a member of the Union and other leadingclubs. Mr. Parkman has resided in Boston all his HENRY PARKMAN He is earnest and enthusiastic in his political views, andis president of the Republican City Committee, to thework of which he devotes much time and energy. Hehas been for ten years secretary of the ProvidentInstitution for Savings, the oldest as well as the largestsavings bank in Boston. Apart from his legal practiceand political and financial work, Mr. Parkman is inter-ested in many philanthropical and progressive institu-tions. He is president of the Boston Training School for Nurses, an insti-tution, the wide-spread usefulness ofwhich is universallyrecognized. is alsopresident of theAdams Nervine Asy-lum.
