A drill instructor of Mike Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, yells at a recruit for moving too slowly during the bases event at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Feb. 2. Drill instructors watched the recruits to make sure they were doing the exercises correctly and motivated them if they started to slow down. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Mike Company is scheduled to graduate April 15.
