With a properly de-signed valve in the mixing chamber however betterresults could be obtained. The maximum power wasslightly increased, from 29,9 , in test numberone and 34,4 H,P, in teet number 2, to 35,85 H,P,in test number 3, It should be noted thst no v/aterwas injected into the cylinders at overload. It is probable that the intake valveswere held open too long, for the wavy exhaust on theindicator cards illustiates a burning exhaust Euidvariable pressure.
