New Chinese apartments with solar water heaters on the roof.
In 2008 China became the worlds largest emitter of greenhouse gases, fueled by high levels of economic growth and electricity mainly being generated by dirty, highly polluting coal fired power stations. The Chinese are also investing heavily in renewable energy projects. Nearly every housing complex that I came across in many cities in northern china had solar water heaters on their roof.
