Dr. Phil Lewis, Department of Agriculture, Forest Pest Method Lab, holds a Spotted Lanternfly at Dover Air Force Base, Delaware, Aug. 24, 2021. The “hitchhiker” insects is believed to have made their way from Asia aboard shipping vessels. They attach themselves and lay eggs on objects which then causes disbursement around the world.
